I am Sorry
“Sometimes, I wonder what my world will be like, if I didn’t have someone like you in my life.”(Rebecca). Love is the most common emotion that people have. People always have someone which he likes and falls in love with. However, love is painful, and people always make mistakes. Even couples would have argument with each others. Sometimes people even hurt each other even it is the person he loved. The poem “I am Sorry” by Rebecca H. uses the rhyme couplets as structure to tell the boy which the speaker loved about her feeling of apologize and how much she wants to fall in love forever with him.
The poem is very simple, it has only 12 lines with 6 stanzas. It does not include any complex vocabulary so it looked easy for the audience to understand and remember. It use rhyme couplets which have two successive rhyming lines in a verse and has the same meter to form a complete thought(literarydevices.net). Besides that, couplets sometimes represent couples in poetry. In this poem, the speaker wrote about the love between a couple which is herself and her boyfriend. Overall the poem, we can infer that the speaker used to have a boyfriend and now they broke up because some problems happen between them. The speaker wondered what her life will be without her boyfriend, and she figure out that she really loves him and she wants to stay with him. So in the poem, she used rhyme couplets for each of the stanza and connect the two lines in one stanza. All the stanzas have the words “I” and “you”, so it’s clear that the whole poem is about the relationship between two people.
In the first stanza, the speaker wondered what her life will be if her boyfriend wasn’t with her. “Sometimes I wonder what my world will be like, If i didn’t have someone like you in my life.” This gives the audience the information that the story is about the love between the speaker and the guy she like. And from the title “I am sorry”, we can clarify that the poem is about the apologize in love. Then in the second stanza, she found out that she can’t live with out him. So she wrote that:”I came back to reality only to see, that I wouldn’t live myself without you and me.” In this stanza, the speaker got an answer from what she wondered in the first stanza. She use rhyme couplets “see” and “me” to refer to the relationship between couple and make connection with the phrase “you” and “me” in the second line.
The third and fourth stanza is like the transition in this poem which showed how much she wanted to stay with him by using the rhyme couplets “me” and “be”, “you and “through”. Those rhyme couplets refer to the relationship between “I” and “you”. “I am looking forwards to the future, hoping you will be with me. And I want to spend the rest of my life making it up to you.” After the speaker wondered her life without her boyfriend, she expressed how much she loves him in this poem. She wanted to spent the rest of her life with him. After that, the last line of the fourth line leads to the point of the poem which is apologize. She knew all the mistakes that she had made and all the hell she had been putting him through. Those two stanzas transfer the point of the poem from expressing her love into expressing her apologize.
So in the third stanza, she felt sorry and she apologized:” I am so sorry, and I can’t say that enough.” She hoped that this will be the last time they had a argument. She still loved him and she will love him forever. The rhyme couplets “enough” and “rough” show that there was enough rough between their relationship and She wanted get back with her boyfriend at the end of the poem by saying that she loved him with all her heart and she will love him forever. The last rhyme couplets “heart” and “part” retell her love and showing the point of the poem which is to recover her relationship with her boyfriend.
I chose this poem because I also have kind of similar experience as the speaker. I have a girlfriend, and we love each other. Although we have arguments all the time, we really love each other and want to stay with each other. So every time, we apologize and get back together. The poem reminds me about my girlfriend and I want send this poem to her as the poem has said: I feel sorry about all the mistakes I made to make you feel unhappy. I loved you completely and I hope you can be with me forever.

The "I am sorry" by Rebecca H. use the rhyme caplets to communicate with the boy she loved in order to express the feeling of apologize and how much the speaker want to fall in love forever with him.

What she did well:
She told us the main point of the poem Mujer is about a black Persian cat. And she gave the description of the Persian cat: it is a symbol of unlucky, and people are usually afraid of them. Besides that in the introduction, she mentioned that the meaning of the poem is everyone is equal and that was the speaker want to sent to the reader. Then she gave analysis of the poem, and she defined the term of phrase in the lines. Such as "Then, they “took you for rest”. I think they just kill this “unlucky black persian cat”; it just like “that old”. In my opinion, “Yankee farm” is the heaven. Even there are “so many field mice”, the cat still feel very lonely. In the end, “you return to us” because the retribution is coming." I can see that what do the poem mean to "we took you rest to that old", people were being afraid of that Persian cat, so they killed it and covered the reason by saying it is old. Also it was an interesting interpretation that to define the Yankee farm as heaven. After that she gave more analysis to the rest of the poem and talking about the title and the deep meaning.
What she need to improve on:
Although your analysis was interesting and make sense, it is a little confusing while I was reading it. When I read through half of your paper. I felt like the point of paper is about the Persian cat, and people dislikes it so they kill it. The speaker wanted say that everything is equal and people shouldn't kill the cat because it was symbol of unlucky. However, as I was continued reading it, I soon realized the Persian cat is refer to a woman in ancient times. The title Mujer also means woman. I got confused since I can't figure out how can a woman be related to a Persian cat. I think woman wasn't a symbol of unlucky and people won't be afraid of it. Although she said that the Persian cat is a metaphor in this poem and the real meaning of that woman in the past. she didn't make enough desertion about the connection between the that woman and the Persian cat. I think that she put her description about her opinion in the second paragraph in front of giving the deeper meaning of the poem. is her thoughts right that the Yankee farm was refer to the heaven, and people killed the Persian cat and send it to heaven. So that it is more organized and more understandable. Then she can write about the deeper meaning which is woman did not choose their fate to be a woman, and woman is not treated equally as man based on the analysis she had made and proved. Also her introduction is a little bit "hollow" which started with "A weeks ago, I read a poem called Mujer." It's better to start it with a hook like something to attract reader's attention. Theater Review
The Last Show of this school year "Comedy Tonight"
This Friday, I went to see another show in the Black Box Theater. It was the third time and the last time I went to see the show in the Black Box in this school year. Compare to my other two experience, this show is my favorite one. The name of the Show is called "Comedy Tonight". As we can see from the name of show, the point of the show is funny and interesting. I liked comedy the best and that's why I enjoyed the show a lot during Friday night. I can say that it was the most popular show in this year, because there were full of audience in the Black Box. When I came to the Theater, there were already full of crowds and there was only a few seats left. As there were full of people inside of the theater, it was very hot inside. However, since the show was started, our attentions were taken away from the stuffiness. I want to say that, every show was interesting and the actor did a really great job putting themselves into the role. Among all this amazing show, one them wasthe most memorable. The first one is form Act one, which told a story about William An's unusual. I still remembered how his wife took his baby car so he had to ride a scooter to work. On the way, he was hitting by a dead bird and made him feel hungry and go to MacDonald to buy breakfast. He can't use his credit card and he had no cash. So he went to the bank. Then the best scene happened. The bank gave him monopoly money and kept telling him that's the real money. At last, poor and unlucky William An(I forget the name of the character he is acting) was being late for work, and his boss was angry about his magical experience so he was fired. There were also some other interesting show such as the morning meeting one and the latte boy one. All in all, if you came to see the show, I believed you enjoyed it a lot. If you did not came to see the show, that may be a regret for you. Anyway, I would like to thank all the Actor and the Directors for making us this excellent show.

I am Sorry
“Sometimes, I wonder what my world will be like, if I didn’t have someone like you in my life.”(Rebecca) Love is the most common emotion that people have. People always have one person which he likes and falls in love with. However, love is painful, and people always make mistakes. Even couples would have argument with each others. Sometimes it’s a big deal and people hurts each other even it is the person he loved. The poem “I am Sorry” is written by Rebecca H. In the poem, she talks about the person she liked and she wants to spend the rest of her life with. But it seems like she made some mistakes in the past which cause some problems in their love. So she wrote this poem to express apologize to the person she loved and expressing her feeling which she wanted to fall in love with him forever.
The poem is very simple, it has only 12 lines with 6 stanzas. It does not include any vocabulary so it looked easy for me to understand and remember. It has a rhyme scheme which is AA BB BB CC DD EE. And it is very helpful while I was remember it. In the poem, each two stanzas have a connection between them. The first stanza: “Sometimes I wonder what my world will be like, If i didn’t have someone like you in my life.” The speaker is thinking if she does not have the man she loved in her life, what her life will be like. Then she found out that she can’t live with out him. So in the second stanza, she wrote that she came back to reality only to see, that I wouldn’t live myself without you and me. The third and fourth stanza is like the transition in this poem which showed that she wanted to stay with him and fall in love with him for the rest of her life. That lead to the point of the poem which is apologize. She knew all the mistakes that she had made and “all the hell she had been putting him through. She felt sorry and she apologized:” I am so sorry, and I can’t say that enough.” She hoped that this will be the last time they had a argument. She still loved him and she will love him forever. She express the feeling of sorry and what she will do in the future to getting back with the man she loved at the end of the poem and that’s the main point of this poem which is to recover her relationship with her boyfriend.

And every time I apologize and promise that it will never happen again in order to solve the problem. The poem makes me think of my own experience with her and I want send this poem to her as the poem has said: I felt sorry about all the mistakes I made to make you feel unhappy. I loved you completely and I hope you can be with me forever. Although, at first I felt really nervous about presenting it to my class, because I am not good at remembering things very much. However, in fact the rhyme scheme helped me a lot, and while I was presenting it, I looked at my girlfriend, feeling like I am talking to her. So at last, it ends up not bad.
